Guilty Pleasures...What's Yours?

What kinds of things do you enjoy doing in your spare time that may seem too embarrassing to share with others? Perhaps you like driving around in your car alone singing to Britney Spears's "Baby One More Time" at the top of your lungs. Or, you like to get on Facebook just to look through all of your crush's photos, every 471 of them. You may even like to hang out with your dogs and treat them as if they were people, asking them questions like, "Bow, are you upset that it's thundering outside?", and answering for them, "Yeah, I just wish I could go outside to do my duties". If you enjoy doing things similar to these, don't blush. You're not alone. In fact, I have a hobby of my own that I am so into that I completely forget about the C- I just made on a paper, or the rude comment the cashier made to me after he screwed up my order. This hobby is following celebrity drama. Yep, I said it. I love nothing more than finding out which cute boy is Miley Cyrus's next boyfrien or learning about the latest news on the Brangelina vs. Jen scandal, if there even is one. Which leads me to ask... do you think Brad and Jen will ever get back together, why or why not?

Summertime Adventures

During the last few hectic weeks of school as I kick into high gear to finish my classes on a high note, I can't allow myself to prematurely think of the peaceful laziness I enjoy during the summer. Because I love the laid back, adventurous spirit of summertime SO much, permitting myself to think of summer before it actually gets here would lead me to sunbathe in front of my dorm or hang out with my friends at the expense of neglecting my schoolwork. Yet once my last exam is finished, I take as a deep a breath as I can given my exhaustion and get in summer mode.
For me, summer is a time to explore new hobbies, reflect on personal life goals, and a time to spend enjoyable time with myself and loved ones. While I revisit the hobbies I have been forced to abandon in order to devote time to my studies, such as running 2-3 miles a day, I am also open to learning new things that have always intrigued me. So far this summer, cooking has been that new hobby. I have always been a food lover. But isn't everyone? Well, I have always enjoyed delicious food, and when I find it, I make a point to tell everyone about it. Good food does so much more than satisfy a hungry body, it nurtures the soul and the mind. I have been particularly impressed with certain recipes I have discovered in Rachel Ray's, "30 Minutes Meals", and Southern Living Magazine.
